ANDREA LOCKETT
Lockett is a freelance writer and editor and a certified personal trainer. Since 1991, she has worked on the staff of Chelsea Magazine, and has published her work in a variety of magazines and anthologies. She wrote new lyrics to composer Fred Ho's arrangement of John Coltrane's Naima and edited poet Cheryl Boyce Taylor's collection Raw Air. She is especially inspired by the Song of Solomon; the three lyrics of Sappho; the Welsh rhythms of Dylan Thomas; and the Brassy/bold/beautiful voice of Anne Sexton,Sandra Cisneros and Gerry Gomez Pearlberg.
